Art is a form of expression that helps us understand the world around us. Good art takes this notion a step further and triggers some type of emotional response from it’s viewers. This is why you’ll see such diversity in the types of creative pieces that are considered successful. Take a moment and think about the 10k hearts you often see on a simple adorable doodle on insta. Now think about some other art pieces you’ve seen that are detailed, technically advanced, and yet have gone with less than 100 interactions.
When it comes down to it, the art that sales isn’t doing so because of the level of technical skill and detail that goes in but by what that art can bring out of the people who view it. Cutesy and chibi art is a form of art that makes people feel happy, light, and fuzzy. In an overbearingly dreadful society that steals peace, joy, and happiness, cute art is like a gentle cool breeze on a muggy hot day. Because of the momentary relief cute art brings, many believe cute art will and can always sale much easier than any other kind. In many cases, adjusting an artistic piece to be more cutesy has proven to increase sales/profit and engagement by 80%.
When things are cute, and condensed with round lines and soft edges, they’re easier to accept, digest, and enjoy. Art Psychologist equate seeing cute art to how humans react when they see a cute baby and tiny cute dogs. Many people struggling with their mental health find comfort in soft cute things as they’re a hard contrast to the ridged and harsh world that seems to be around us on the daily. Cute art will always sale because it's something that will never go out of style and will always be needed in society to provide hope, peace, and security to those who need it most.
